Xerneas: Pokemon X and Y by danniichan Xerneas: Pokemon X and Y by danniichan
I haven't done any pokemon drawings in a while since I've been pretty busy and I'm super excited for Pokemon: X and Y even though it doesn't come out for many months. Out of the few new pokemon that have been released so far, Xerneas immediately caught my attention.
I think it's such a great design and it reminds me of the forest spirit from Princess Mononoke (another creature whose design I've been enamored with for a long while).

I may try and make a Xerneas gijinka drawing so I can base a cosplay off of it because I'm a sucker for oversized headgear and his horns would make a fantastic headdress.

So I wasn't the only one who thought Princess Mononokee? Anyways, I really love how you drew Xerneas here (especially his ever colorful horns!)

To be honest, it took me a minute to figure out the head. I had to look at a google image search and back at this multiple times to figure it out. Other than that confusing bit.....this is amazing! =D The colors are so awesome! I've done a couple colored pencil drawings to try and figure stuff out, but they look nothing like this. I'm jelly =P

That could also partially be my fault as I fudged the angle of the head & left antlers but was too lazy to correct it hahaha. But yeah, thanks! Colored pencil is my favorite medium to work with, the trick is to lightly layer the color xD

Hahaha I know that feel. When you just want to do it and get to the end product more than actually doing it =P Sometimes I gotta remind myself to slow down and enjoy drawing whatever it is I'm drawing and that I will eventually be done. I'll have to try doing that next time I'm using colored pencils =3
